What is the European Foundation for the Information Society and e-Government?

An European Service
The European Foundation for the Information Society and e-Government is an entity of general interest, set up under the Belgian Law, that intends to promote and finance the use of New Technologies at the service of the Public Administrations of the Member States of the European Union.

Missions
With the aim of developing the Public Utility, adapting it to the evolution of the Civil Society, the European Foundation for the Information Society and e-Government finances the use of New Technologies for the modernization of the different Public Administrations, Central Institutions, Regions and Cities.

In collaboration with the Administrations that want to implant this Service, the European Foundation finances and takes part in the creation of new public management tools, developing on an international scale the new services intended to improve the performance of the public utility in the Member States.

Administratel
The Foundation has taken part in the creation of the "Administratel Service", set up in order to bring the Administration closer to the citizen. The Administratel Service offers an intuitive, convenient, universal and free access to the whole of the Administrations.

This Public Service makes possible to offer the utilities of New Technologies to the whole population. The Administratel Service is nowadays installed at the United Nations Headquarters, as well as in 400 national and local Administrations.

This service is financed by the European Union and it is available with important economic aids for all the Administrations of the Member States which request it.
